Job Summary:
Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) in Springfield, Illinois. This position involves providing intensive patient care within a Level I trauma center to adult patients with various diagnoses, including neurological, cardiac, respiratory, and orthopedic conditions. Candidates are required to bring their active Illinois license on the first day of the assignment.

Job Details:

• Shift: Nights, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Valid Illinois nursing license, minimum of 1 year of clinical experience in telemetry, neuro stepdown, PCU, or IMCU settings. Certifications required include Basic Life Support (BLS) and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS). Additional preferred qualifications include Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Cerner charting system, teaching hospital background, and Level I trauma center experience.
• Schedule: Nights, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Additional Information: The unit is a fast-paced, high patient throughput environment with approximately 38 beds. Nurses may be required to float within scope as needed, including ventilator management, cardiac monitoring, and multiple specialty procedures. The unit supports interdisciplinary teams including respiratory services, phlebotomy, radiology, and social services.
