We have an exciting Hybrid-workspace Accounting Manager opportunity with a growing software and modeling company focused on the energy-sector. They are based in West Metro Denver. This hybrid role will transition to 1 day in-office/4 remote after training. This is a highly visible leadership role that combines hands-on accounting responsibilities with strategic financial and tax oversight. Reporting to the SVP of Finance Services, the Accounting Manager will oversee the month-end close process, G/L activities, A/R, payroll, revenue recognition, inventory accounting, and fixed assets. This individual will also manage U.S. and Canadian tax compliance, including income tax, sales and use tax, withholding tax, employment tax, property tax, transfer pricing support, and audit response activities. The client is seeking the right person with several of these tax skills, but they will consider the candidate with at least one of these skills and exposure to several of the other tenets.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the month-end close process and general ledger accounting activities
• Supervise accounting staff and review work product for accuracy and completeness
• Manage accounts receivable, payroll, fixed assets, prepaid expenses, and inventory accounting
• Oversee revenue recognition and cost of revenue accounting
• Ensure compliance with U.S. and Canadian income tax, sales and use tax, withholding tax, employment tax, and property tax requirements
• Support transfer pricing and intercompany transaction analysis
• Coordinate tax audits, notices, and regulatory compliance activities
• Strengthen internal controls and improve accounting processes
• Partner with leadership to minimize tax exposure and maximize retained cash flow

Qualifications

• BS Degree in Accounting required
• CPA, CMA, or Master's in Tax preferred
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
• Prior experience supervising accounting staff
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, tax compliance, and financial reporting
• Experience with Sage 100 preferred
• Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
