The Senior Manager, Account Executive Operations for Technical Quality of Acceptance, leads the regional operational delivery of the Technical Quality of Acceptance strategy across Latin America, the Caribbean and Mexico. The role leads a high-performing team of operational professionals and protects the ability of cardholders to use the network reliably across the merchant-to-acquirer payment ecosystem.

The team monitors strategic merchants and market trends, uses transaction and operational insight to identify emerging acceptance risks, and leads proactive and reactive remediation when technical breakages occur. The remit covers the end-to-end acceptance chain: merchant, POS, ecommerce or ATM environment, gateway or orchestrator, PSP, processor and acquirer.

This is an operational payments-acceptance leadership role not a sales role and not primarily focused on issuer approval or decline rates. The Senior Manager partners across Strategy, Product, Technology, Networks, Operations, Commercial and Data to align priorities, influence decisions and resolve complex acceptance issues at local, market and Network level.

Core Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor and develop a high-performing team of operational professionals, including managers and specialists across country acceptance, analytics, PSP-related acceptance and referral investigation. Set clear goals, manage performance and capacity, and build technical and operational capability.
• Lead the regional operational delivery of the Technical Quality of Acceptance strategy, translating global priorities into practical, market-specific plans across Latin America, the Caribbean and Mexico.
• Supervise the end-to-end diagnosis and remediation of acceptance breakages across the merchant, POS, ecommerce or ATM environment, gateway or orchestrator, PSP, processor and acquirer at market level.
• Coordinate specialist resources and apply disciplined problem-management practices, including root-cause analysis, remediation ownership, progress tracking, recovery validation and lessons learned.
• Lead complex, cross-functional regional initiatives that strengthen technical acceptance resilience, improve monitoring and detection, remove recurring failure modes, and support technical acceptance stability. Apply disciplined project-management practices to define scope, milestones, dependencies, risks, governance, senior stakeholder communications and delivery plans.
• Build strong internal partnerships across Networks, Operations, Sales, Market Development, and Strategy Teams; influence decisions and drive alignment across differing priorities.
• Establish and maintain clear KPIs, reporting, playbooks, escalation paths, operating controls and documentation for technical acceptance monitoring, investigation and remediation.
• Represent the regional Technical Quality of Acceptance function in governance forums, launch-readiness reviews, roadmap discussions and executive updates, clearly communicating risk, dependencies, decisions and regional impact.
• Develop team and stakeholder capability through training and knowledge sharing on payment flows, acceptance failure modes, investigation methods, escalation and remediation practices.
• Engage externally when necessary to clarify technical issues, coordinate remediation or support strategic acceptance priorities; external client interaction is limited and purposeful, with approximately 15% travel.

Successful candidates will need to complete a Language Assessment

Basic Qualifications:

• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent certification
• At least 7 years of experience in technical acceptance, payment acquiring, merchant processing, payment operations, network operations or payment technology
• At least 5 years of people leadership and performance management experience
• Fluent in Spanish and English

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree
• 8+ years of experience in technical acceptance, payment acquiring, merchant processing, payment operations, network operations or payment technology
• 6+ years of people leadership and performance management experience
• Experience working for a global payment network, acquirer, merchant-services provider, processor, PSP, gateway, payment-orchestration platform, merchant or ATM operator
• Experience leading regional or global programs involving acquirers, processors, PSPs, merchants, payment platforms or other acceptance ecosystem participants
• Experience working with key players across North and Latin America, including knowledge of regional market conditions and payment infrastructure

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.

This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
