Legal Assistant

A nationally recognized law firm is seeking an experienced Legal Administrative Assistant to join its Corporate practice in Nashville. This position plays an integral role in supporting attorneys through all aspects of their daily practice, from client and matter management to billing coordination and document preparation. The ideal candidate is proactive, highly organized, and comfortable working independently in a fast-paced legal environment while balancing multiple priorities.

At least five years of legal administrative experience in a law firm. Previous experience supporting Corporate or Transactional attorneys. Hands-on experience assisting with attorney prebills and legal billing processes. Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize competing requests. Excellent written communication, proofreading, and document formatting abilities. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Ability to work independently while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide day-to-day administrative support to Corporate and Transactional attorneys. Coordinate attorney calendars, meetings, travel arrangements, and client communications. Open new client matters, maintain electronic files, and ensure records remain accurate and organized. Draft, edit, format, and proofread legal correspondence and transactional documents. Review attorney prebills, coordinate revisions, and assist throughout the monthly billing process. Monitor deadlines and manage competing priorities with minimal supervision. Identify administrative issues proactively and recommend practical solutions. Handle confidential client information with professionalism and discretion. Collaborate with attorneys and support staff to ensure efficient workflow across matters. Emerge is committed to being an equal opportunity employer.
