Grounds Supervisor

Job Level: Experienced Job Location: St. Mark's School of Texas - Dallas, TX 75230 Education Level: High School Diploma or Equivalent/GED Job Shift: Any Job Category: Education Position Description Responsibilities Assignment of duties for the Grounds Crew Assistant Responsible for mowing, edging, trimming and fertilizing football, soccer and baseball practice and game fields; also the Headmaster’s yard and all other areas not maintained by outside contractors. Responsible for preparing athletic practice and game fields (painting, chalking, dragging, etc.) Responsible for maintenance and care of all equipment required for grounds care (mowers, tillers, sprayers, etc.) Maintain campus cleanliness by picking up and removing trash from grounds, transporting school trash to designated dumpsters as needed, and assisting with setup of athletic fields throughout the school year (shared with Physical Plant team and third‑party janitorial service providers). Setup of athletic fields throughout the school year depending on which sport season is in session. Program, check and make minor repairs to campus irrigation system as necessary. Assist with special projects assigned by the Director or Assistant Director of Physical Plant (e.g., setting up for special events, moving office furniture, driving the school’s buses for various functions). Perform any and all other duties assigned to support departmental and organizational operations. Qualifications High School diploma or equivalent (Associate's or certification in landscaping/horticulture preferred). 3–5 years of experience in groundskeeping or landscaping. Prior supervisory or leadership experience. Knowledge of landscaping techniques, irrigation systems, and plant care. Ability to operate and maintain grounds equipment. Strong organizational and communication skills. Basic knowledge of safety procedures and regulations. Physical Requirements / Working Environment Primarily outdoors in various weather conditions; noise and large crowds. May require early mornings, evenings, weekends, or overtime during peak seasons.
