Job Category Academic Staff Employment Type Regular Job Profile Outreach Program Manager Job Summary The AHW‑funded Community and Cancer Science Network (CCSN) was established to address cancer in Wisconsin, the second highest cause of mortality in our state. CCSN’s initial charge was to address breast and lung cancer disparities. To effectively address a multifactorial problem, an approach that engages various sectors with knowledge of biology, behavior, and socio‑cultural and environmental contributors is required. Phase 1: Co‑learning and Planning involved five community‑academic workgroups that facilitated collaboration guided by CCSN’s theory of change. Phase 2: Solutions and Implementation, guided by a socio‑ecological model, focuses on people, practice, and policy to increase awareness of cancer risks, improve access to prevention and early detection, and foster equitable systems. The implementation is led by local teams under faculty co‑PI Staci Young, PhD, and community co‑PI David Frazer. Key Responsibilities Develop, implement, and evaluate operating policies and procedures to promote the outreach program in alignment with the strategic plan. Exercise supervisory authority, including hiring, transferring, suspending, promoting, and managing conduct and performance of at least 2.0 FTE or equivalent employees. Supervise the implementation of outreach‑program‑focused strategic planning initiatives and objectives. Determine outreach program needs and personnel resource allocation plan. Review recommendations for and provide input on the design and development of new outreach programs or services. Monitor the unit or program budget and approve expenditures. Required Qualifications Working knowledge of stakeholders working with federally qualified health centers and addressing breast cancer in younger women. Previous initiative planning and implementation experience in community settings, including community clinics and organizations. Valid driver’s license; ability to use personal transportation or obtain university car fleet authorization. Preferred Qualifications At least two years of experience working with stakeholders at federally qualified health centers in Milwaukee and Racine and addressing breast cancer in younger women. At least two years of experience planning and implementing community initiatives with clinics and organizations. Education Master’s degree in Public Health is preferred. Compensation and Benefits The expected salary range for this position is $65,000 to $70,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
