Pay Range: $14.00 – $17.00 per hour

Your Impact & Responsibilities

1. Inspired Curriculum & Instruction

• Design & Deliver: Develop and execute high-quality, age-appropriate daily lesson plans that spark curiosity in literacy, numeracy, and creative play.
• Active Learning: Create a classroom atmosphere where social skills and academic foundations are built through engaging, hands-on activities.

2. Expert Classroom Leadership

• Mentorship: Supervise and guide Teacher Assistants and floaters, fostering a collaborative team environment.
• Management: Maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom. Establish consistent routines and use positive guidance techniques to support student behavior.

3. Student Progress & Assessment

• Observe & Document: Track each child’s developmental milestones and progress.
• Collaborate: Provide regular updates and formal reports to parents, ensuring they are partners in their child’s growth.

4. Safety & Excellence

• Compliance: Ensure the classroom meets all Virginia state licensing regulations, including strict health, safety, and sanitation protocols.
• Communication: Act as the primary point of contact for families, fostering a warm and professional home-school connection.

What We’re Looking For

• Education: A Child Development Associate (CDA) credential is required; an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education (or a related field) is highly preferred.
• Experience: A minimum of 2 years of experience in a licensed childcare or preschool setting.
• Knowledge: Deep understanding of child development stages and Virginia licensing standards.
• Certifications: Current CPR and First Aid certification (or a commitment to obtain them within 30 days of hire).
• Core Skills: Exceptional communication, endless patience, and a genuine, infectious love for working with young children.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift up to 35 lbs.
• Ability to sit on the floor, bend, and stand for extended periods to engage with children at their eye level.
