Kitting Team Lead

Eaton’s ES AMER ARS division is currently seeking a Kitting Team Lead. Schedule for the role will be Friday-Sunday 5pm-5am.The hourly rate for this position is $23.92 per hour.Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.What you’ll do:In the Team Leader role, you will work with the Fabrication Supervisor to drive results on key metrics including safety, quality, delivery, inventory, and productivity. You will provide leadership by promoting teamwork, training others and providing proactive resolution to production needs.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:• You will contribute to a safe, engaged, and inclusive work culture by complying with all policies, including proper use of personal protective equipment and operation of equipment, and performing and assigning 5S duties.• You will work directly with the supervisor and manufacturing team to ensure that customer orders are executed in a timely and efficient manner and that the most urgent orders are fulfilled first.• You will review orders and associated documentation (drawings, travel documents, bills of material) as needed to ensure the team has the appropriate information to complete the job and to assist with troubleshooting problems with the order documentation.• You must provide clear direction and guidance to the department, aligning team efforts with organizational goals.• You will oversee production processes to ensure efficiency and adherence to schedules to meet deadlines and optimize workflow.• Conduct spot checks to ensure quality standards are maintained throughout the production process.• You will facilitate training and cross-training for associates to enhance knowledge and versatility.• You must have the ability to work with the coordinator and be able to complete coordinator tasks if needed.• You will lead Tier 1 meetings, work with the team to identify opportunities for continuous improvement and make daily updates to Tier boards.• You must communicate with other shifts leads and/or supervisor to ensure a smooth transition of tasks and job updates.• You will act as a back-up Supervisor if needed, ensuring continuity in leadership and operations, assisting in interviewing candidates for your designated area, and providing feedback to associates regarding productivity, breaks, etc.Qualifications:BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:• High school diploma or GED required from an accredited institution• Minimum of 2-3 years of manufacturing or materials processing experience required.• Working knowledge of Lean manufacturing concepts.• Experience using various tools, including: Work Instructions, fork truck and measuring tape.• Prior work experience using a computer, including competence in Microsoft Office software (Outlook, Word, and Excel) required.• Incumbent must be able to stand for extended periods of time. Repetitive lifting, bending, and squatting are inherent to this position.• No relocation benefit is offered for this position. Only candidates residing within the immediate area of Sumter (50 miles) will be considered for this position.• Must be legally authorized to work in the US on a permanent basis without company sponsorshipPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:• Previous coordinator/team leader experience is strongly preferred.• Prior experience with AS400, VISTA, and DMM computer programs.Skills:• Must be able to multi-task and balance various demands while achieving goals• Dependable and self-directed• Effective interpersonal & communication (written & verbal) skills• Must demonstrate a collaborative style and work effectively in a diverse environment• Must be able to learn from past experiences and apply learning to current situations• Must be a self-starter capable of working with minimum supervision and capable of solving various problems as unusual circumstances arise through interfacing with other departments• Excellent written and oral communication skills• Understanding of DMM, DMM Fabricated parts/ Kanban ordering process• Ability to deal with both internal and external suppliers in a professional manner• Ability to work with both internal and external customers in managing changing schedules• Demonstrated ability to work both independently and in teams across plant and corporate entities• Self-motivated and results oriented• Strong organizational skillsAdditional Information:Expected to work with some degree of independence and make decisions that affect the workgroup.
