We invite outstanding candidates across all areas of Civil Engineering or related fields. Focus areas for this position may include, but are not limited to, geotechnical engineering, structural and materials engineering, computational mechanics, transportation and infrastructure systems, environmental engineering, water resources engineering, hydraulic engineering, hydrologic engineering, and related fields.Located in a new engineering building equipped with state-of-the-art classrooms and laboratories, the department benefits from a strong university-wide emphasis on mentored research for both graduate and undergraduate students. Department resources and university support are extensive, including generous funding for capital equipment and supplies, an annual travel budget, substantial funding for student teaching assistants, access to extensive computer hardware and software, and acclaimed international study-abroad programs.The department emphasizes experiential learning with an interdisciplinary approach to sustainably and ethically design, engineer, construct, and manage the built environment. The successful candidate must demonstrate their ability to contribute through high-quality teaching, mentorship, and a focused research agenda. Responsibilities include: 1) teaching both undergraduate and graduate courses within a focus area and supporting areas; 2) developing a robust, externally funded research program that includes mentoring graduate and undergraduate students and results in high-impact publications and products; and 3) contributing meaningfully to professional organizations and actively engaging in service roles within the department, college, and university.Initial rank will be based on qualifications and experience.
