Labor And Employment Counsel
A national law firm is seeking an experienced Labor and Employment attorney to join its Los Angeles office.
This opportunity offers a sophisticated management-side employment practice with a mix of litigation, counseling, and strategic client advisory work. The successful candidate will work directly with employers on high-exposure employment matters and serve as a trusted legal advisor on workplace issues.
Responsibilities
- Defend employers in single-plaintiff employment litigation matters
- Handle claims involving discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wage and hour issues, and reasonable accommodation
- Manage PAGA and class action matters
- Take and defend depositions, including plaintiffs and corporate representatives
- Draft and argue dispositive motions and discovery motions
- Manage cases from inception through resolution independently
- Provide day-to-day employment counseling on federal and California employment laws
- Advise clients on compliance, risk management, workplace investigations, and personnel decisions
- Work directly with business leaders, human resources professionals, and in-house counsel
Requirements
- Significant labor and employment law experience
- Strong background in employment litigation defense
- Experience handling wage and hour matters
- Experience with PAGA claims
- Experience with class actions
- Experience conducting and defending depositions
- Strong motion practice experience
- Employment counseling experience
- Excellent research, writing, and advocacy skills
- Active California Bar admission
