Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Step Down Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 1.5 years of experience in step down or progressive care unit License: Active state RN license or compact license Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Cardiac experience required Experience with CABG and valve post-operative care required EPIC charting experience required 1:5 patient ratio experience in step down or progressive care unit is needed Floating required based on unit needs Description: Cardiac experience is required. Experience with CABG and valve post-operative care is necessary. Applicants must show a 1:5 patient ratio experience in the work history section for step down or progressive care unit, otherwise, their application will not be reviewed. ICU experience does not count towards step down or progressive care experience at this facility. Applicants must have step down or progressive care experience to be considered. Candidates must pass an online EKG tele competency assessment before starting the assignment. Nurses must have skills in BLS, ACLS, IV starts, NIHSS, and cardiac drip titration. Candidates will be fitted for an N95 mask prior to working in high-risk respiratory units unless a PAPR is required. Travel experience is preferred. Candidates must be available to work every other weekend and holiday. The facility reserves the right to cancel shifts due to low census. Travelers may float to other units based on skill set and census needs. Candidates must be comfortable floating with no restrictions or special requests. Daily patient census includes adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. Patients diagnosed may include cardiac and vascular conditions. Specialties include pre-and post-operative open heart management and advanced care cardiac patients with continuous telemetry. Candidates must demonstrate skills in cardiac telemetry and management of dysrhythmias. Floating between units and medical departments may be required based on the needs of the facility. Candidates do not need to provide references for application submission. Local travelers are not accepted within specified radius limitations. Candidates must disclose any past employment within the health system.
