Certified Medication Assistant (CMA) Morningside House of Spotsylvania - Full Time Job Overview As a Certified Medication Assistant in our memory care community, you will administer medications safely and accurately, support residents with dignity, and coordinate care with nurses, doctors, and family members to ensure a high quality of life for all residents. Responsibilities Administer oral and topical medications as ordered by a physician, supervised by a licensed nurse, following state and federal regulations. Perform medication administration duties in accordance with the five rights of medication administration. Take and record vital signs when required, and document all medication events using the resident information system. Monitor residents for reactions or side effects and promptly report findings to the nurse. Administer PRN medications as needed while staying compliant with policy. Maintain antiseptic techniques and hand‑washing practices for infection control. Document any changes in residents’ condition or behavioral incidents, and submit incident reports within 24 hours. Communicate with medical staff, nursing services, and other departmental supervisors. Supervise care staff in the absence of nurses and maintain the medication room. Attend required training, in‑service sessions, and staff meetings. Maintain resident privacy and confidentiality, treating all staff and residents with dignity and respect. Adhere to resident rights regulations and safety protocols. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent; or related experience and/or training. Certified Medication Aide certification required. Basic knowledge of medication administration and ability to follow state/federal regulations. Benefits Competitive pay. Attendance bonus: up to $3,000 per year.
