• Compensation: $44.97 - $71.95/hour (Based on experience) + Benefits
• Sign-On Bonus: Up to $20,000 for eligible new hires

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Cardiac Sonographer II to join our echocardiography team in Boston, MA. The successful candidate will independently perform comprehensive pediatric cardiac ultrasound examinations ranging from normal cardiac anatomy to complex congenital heart disease.

This role involves providing echocardiography services across multiple phases of patient care, including diagnostic, pre-operative, intraoperative/under anesthesia, and post-operative evaluations involving complex surgical repairs.

The Cardiac Sonographer II will also contribute to laboratory quality, support and mentor other sonographers and trainees, participate in clinical research, and help ensure the efficient delivery of high-quality echocardiography services.

-> Key Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive pediatric echocardiography examinations using established protocols.
• Independently conduct examinations in the echocardiography laboratory and with portable equipment at other locations as needed.
• Support and supervise the delivery of echocardiography services within the non-invasive laboratory.
• Monitor examination quality and assist sonographers in following established protocols.
• Develop appropriate examination methodologies based on the patient's condition and clinical requirements.
• Establish supportive and professional relationships with pediatric patients and their families.
• Explain examination procedures to patients and parents and communicate scheduling changes or concerns.
• Maintain, evaluate, and troubleshoot ultrasound and laboratory equipment.
• Monitor inventory and maintain appropriate levels of standard supplies.
• Maintain required equipment, supply, examination, and laboratory records.
• Provide guidance and instruction to sonographers, students, trainees, and fellows regarding echocardiography procedures and interpretation of results.
• Participate in clinical research studies and assist with the collection of required clinical data.
• Explain research protocols to staff and help ensure compliance with study requirements.
• Support quality improvement initiatives and the efficient operation of the echocardiography laboratory.

-> Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of an accredited Cardiac Ultrasound program in Pediatric Echocardiography.
• Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in pediatric echocardiography .
• RDCS – Pediatric Echocardiography (PE) certification.
• Current BLS certification in accordance with American Heart Association standards.
• Demonstrated ability to independently perform pediatric echocardiography examinations, including cases involving complex congenital heart disease.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Healthcare, Nursing, Biology, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in pediatric echocardiography.
• Experience with complex congenital heart disease and post-operative cardiac imaging.
• Experience mentoring or training sonographers, students, trainees, or fellows.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, particularly when working with pediatric patients and their families.
