About Per Scholas For 30 years, Per Scholas has been on a mission to drive mobility and opportunity in the ever‑advancing technology landscape by unlocking the untapped potential of individuals, uplifting communities, and meeting the needs of employers through rigorous tech training. By partnering with dynamic employer partners, ranging from Fortune 500 companies to innovative startups, we forge inclusive tech talent pipelines to fulfill an ever‑increasing need for skilled talent. With national remote training and campuses in 20+ cities, we offer no‑cost training programs in the most sought‑after tech skills, spanning Cloud, Cybersecurity, Data Engineering, IT Support, Software Engineering, and more. Preferred hiring regions: AZ, CA, CO, FL, GA, IL, IN, KS, MD, MA, MI, MO, NC, NJ, NY, OH, PA, TX, WA. Employment Type: Contract Duration: 3‑6 months Hourly Rate: $45‑$50 Who We’re Looking For We are seeking a technically‑minded Technical Curriculum Developer to design, develop, and maintain scalable training solutions for skilled trades in Semiconductor Manufacturing (wafer fabrication, assembly/test, and packaging), Advanced Manufacturing, and beyond. What You’ll Do Content Design & Development (70%) Module Creation: Build interactive digital learning modules using Articulate 360 (Storyline/Rise) and Google Workspace that are fully integrated into the Canvas LMS. Technical Documentation: Develop comprehensive instructor manuals, detailed lesson plans, facilitation guides, and learner workbooks that provide clear, step‑by‑step instructions for complex technical tasks—wafer handling, tool PM, and process troubleshooting—using Google Workspace Apps. Visual & Multimedia Aids: Create technical diagrams, multimedia learning aids (videos, animations), and interactive demonstrations to help learners visualize unseen processes such as plasma etch, thin‑film deposition, vacuum behavior, and gas/chemical flow. Hands‑on Lab Design: Design practical laboratory exercises, diagnostic tests, and performance‑based assessments for electrical, vacuum, and equipment‑maintenance tasks, complete with rigorous cleanroom and hazardous‑materials safety documentation. Curriculum Architecture: Assist in translating technical competencies into modular, progressive skill‑building sequences, moving from foundational theory (semiconductor basics, the fab process flow) to advanced equipment and process troubleshooting. Currriculum Maintenance & Feedback (20%) Continuous Improvement: Proactively synthesize feedback from learners, instructors, and field/fab SMEs to identify pain points and drive rapid curriculum iteration. Content Lifecycle Management: Manage the update cycle for existing modules—adding, updating, or removing content based on changing industry standards, tool generations, and market signals. Governance & Version Control: Maintain meticulous version control and technical documentation for all training materials to ensure site‑to‑site consistency across national programs. Program Support & Collaboration (10%) Instructor Enablement: Develop robust instructor onboarding materials and resource libraries, including technical reference sheets and troubleshooting guides for trainers. Cross‑Functional Support: Assist with the creation of program descriptions and technical marketing materials for recruitment and external partnership engagement. What You’ll Bring To Us Technical and Industrial Expertise 1–3 years of technical instructional design experience. 1–3 years working in or with electrical, electromechanical, or equipment‑maintenance roles in semiconductor fabs, advanced manufacturing, or comparable high‑tech industrial environments. Strong technical background; able to grasp and convey highly technical subject matter. Ability to respond clearly to live digital conversations via a digital engagement platform such as Zoom or in an in‑person training environment. Strong communication skills. Required Skill Sets Electrical & Controls (Priority) Demonstrable understanding of Electrical systems, Instrumentation, and PLC logic and troubleshooting, including controls and RF power systems found on process tools. Hands‑on experience or deep technical familiarity with front–end process tools (photolithography, plasma and reactive‑ion etch, thin‑film deposition, ion implantation, diffusion/oxidation furnaces, CMP, wet‑process/clean benches). Vacuum systems (roughing and high‑vacuum pumps, chambers, gauges, leak detection). Gas & Chemical delivery (bulk and specialty gas systems, cabinets, VMBs, mass flow controllers, slurry/chemical distribution for hazardous materials). Metrology & Inspection (measurement, defect inspection, and test equipment to qualify wafers and tools). Automation & Wafer Handling (robotics, EFT/load ports, SECS/GEM concepts). Facility & Sub‑Fab Infrastructure (UPW, process cooling water, exhaust abatement, HVAC, cleanroom controls). Cleanroom & Contamination Control (gowning, ESD, particle management). Sector experience: 1–3 years in semiconductor fabrication, assembly/test, or advanced manufacturing environments. Instructional Design & Professional Skills 1–3 years of experience in instructional design or technical training content creation. Associate‑level use of Articulate 360 and Canvas LMS; high proficiency in Google Workspace. Exceptional written communication skills with a proven ability to simplify expert‑level technical jargon into teachable, structured content. Solid understanding of industrial and semiconductor‑specific safety standards (OSHA, NFPA 70E, hazardous gas/chemical handling, SEMI equipment safety guidelines such as S2/S8). Preferred Skill Sets Professional certifications in semiconductor, maintenance, electrical, vacuum, or industrial safety disciplines. Experience with virtual labs, AR/VR simulations, or SCORM/xAPI content development. Familiarity with competency‑based education and national credentialing frameworks. Professional Qualifications Industrial certifications such as SACA, SMRP, NIMS, OSHA 10/30, or NFPA 70E. Instructional Design or eLearning certifications (ATD, university‑based ID programs, Articulate 360 training, Canvas Certified Educator). Personal Characteristics Creative, inventive, fast‑paced, startup environment. Data‑driven, result‑oriented, forward‑looking catalyst for social change. Collaborative and flexible; work cross‑functionally and independently. Lifelong learner. Effective communicator with strong oral and written skills. Tech‑savvy and quick learner of new tools. Detail‑oriented with exceptional organizational management skills. Time‑management and multitasking abilities. Alignment with mission: belief that individuals from any community should have access to well‑paying career positions and that talent should be recognized from diverse sources. Employee Assistance Program (EAP): Free, confidential, 24/7 access to counseling, legal support, and financial resources for employees and their household members.
