Event and Guest Relations Manager

Salary: $70,000–$90,000 annually, commensurate with experience, plus commission based on private event sales by location.

Events & Guest Relations Manager Position
We are seeking an Events & Guest Relations Manager to lead and grow our private events program while elevating the guest experience across all of our restaurants.

This is not a traditional event coordinator role.

We're looking for someone who thrives at the intersection of hospitality, sales, operations, and relationship-building. The ideal candidate has a strong restaurant operations background—perhaps as a Maître D', Floor Manager, AGM, or GM—and is excited to channel that experience into growing our events business, cultivating guest relationships, and creating systems that improve every stage of the guest journey.

This is a highly autonomous position that requires exceptional self-discipline, initiative, organization, and follow-through. Success in this role comes from taking ownership, identifying opportunities, building relationships, and consistently driving new business.

• Own the entire private events process from initial inquiry through successful execution and post-event follow-up.
• Proactively drive private event sales across all Redwood Hospitality concepts.
• Conduct site tours and develop relationships with prospective clients, corporate partners, event planners, and community organizations.
• Build event packages and pricing strategies around seasonal demand and peak/off-peak periods.
• Prepare proposals, contracts, menus, timelines, and event logistics.
• Partner closely with culinary and operations teams to ensure seamless execution.
• Continually identify opportunities to expand and improve the private events program.

• Develop meaningful relationships with both regular guests and first-time visitors.
• Create thoughtful guest follow-up systems that increase guest retention and repeat visits.
• Oversee guest notes and guest profiles across all concepts, ensuring information is accurate, detailed, and actionable.
• Establish and maintain company-wide VIP standards and hospitality protocols.
• Coordinate VIP experiences, media visits, and special guest requests.
• Lead guest recovery initiatives with professionalism, warmth, and attention to detail.

• Become the company's expert on Resy and reservation optimization.
• Manage reservation books, floor plans, seating maps, pacing, and inventory across multiple restaurants.
• Continuously optimize reservation strategies to maximize sales while protecting service flow and operational efficiency.
• Partner with restaurant leadership to improve guest experience through thoughtful reservation management.
• Lead reservation strategy meetings and collaborate with management teams to ensure each service is positioned for success.
• Maintain detailed guest research, reviewer profiles, and reservation data to support hospitality initiatives.

• Lead the planning, promotion, and execution of special events, chef collaborations, holiday programming, and community initiatives.
• Support marketing efforts by generating hospitality-focused content and collaborating on social media campaigns.
• Manage media reservations, press inquiries, and VIP outreach.
• Help strengthen Redwood Hospitality's presence within the local community through thoughtful partnerships and events.

• Partner with restaurant leadership teams to ensure guest experience standards remain consistent across all concepts.
• Train and support Maître D's, Hosts, and Reservationists in hospitality standards, guest communication, and reservation management.
• Provide floor management support when operational needs require.
• Maintain and update online guest-facing platforms including Resy, Google Business Profiles, Yelp, and company websites.

• 3+ years of hospitality management experience.
• Experience in restaurant management, private events, guest relations, or hospitality sales.
• Previous experience as a Maître D', Floor Manager, AGM, GM, or similar hospitality leadership role strongly preferred.
• Strong understanding of restaurant operations and service standards.
• Extensive experience with Resy or similar reservation management platforms.
• Experience using CRM or guest relationship platforms such as Loyalist is a plus.
• Outstanding organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to balance hospitality excellence with sales and business development goals. 
• Ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds and move equipment weighing up to 100 pounds with appropriate equipment.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced restaurant environment, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as business needs require.
