Senior Litigation Docket Specialist (Procedural Focus)

? Dallas or Houston (Primarily Remote)

? $90,000 - $110,000

Are you a senior litigation paralegal who thrives on the why behind filings-not just the deadlines? This unique opportunity is ideal for someone who enjoys digging into procedural rules, navigating complex filings, and serving as a strategic resource to litigation teams.

This is not a traditional docketing role -it's a highly specialized, consultative position focused on procedural analysis, court rules, and high-level filing support.

What You'll Do:

• Serve as a go-to procedural expert for attorneys and case teams
• Analyze and interpret federal, state, local, and judge-specific rules
• Support complex filings, including motions to dismiss and large exhibit submissions
• Assist with appellate filings and related procedural requirements
• Advise teams on formatting, required sections, certificates, and compliance elements
• Research court rules and procedures when guidance is unclear or not explicitly stated
• Navigate filing requirements across jurisdictions, including outside of Texas
• Ensure filings meet court-specific nuances and submission standards
• Provide limited docketing support as needed (not the primary function)

Ideal Background:

• 5+ years of litigation support experience (paralegal or docketing)
• Strong understanding of civil procedure and court filing requirements
• Experience supporting cases from inception through trial
• Hands-on experience with appellate filings and complex motions
• Ability to research and interpret rules across multiple jurisdictions
• Confident navigating gray areas where rules are not clearly defined
• Strong critical thinking, attention to detail, and independent judgment

Technical Skills:

• Experience with e-filing systems (state, federal, appellate)
• Familiarity with platforms such as PACER, eFile Texas, and similar
• Legal research tools (Westlaw, Lexis, Practical Law)
• Docketing/calendaring systems (CourtAlert or similar is a plus)

Work Environment & Flexibility:

• Primarily remote
• Occasional in-person meetings (approximately 4-5 per year)
• Must be located within commuting distance of Dallas or Houston

Interview Process:

• Initial phone or Zoom conversation with Hiring Manager
• Practical assessment (Texas procedural exercise + issue spotting)
• Final conversation with Hiring Manager
