Custodian

Providence Staffing's client is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Custodian to join their team in Phenix City, AL. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary facility while ensuring a professional appearance throughout the building. This position requires someone who takes pride in their work, follows safety procedures, and can work independently with minimal supervision. Essential Job Duties Clean and maintain offices, hallways, break rooms, restrooms, and common areas. Sweep, mop, vacuum, and buff floors as needed. Empty trash and recycling containers and replace liners. Clean and sanitize restrooms, including toilets, sinks, mirrors, and fixtures. Restock restroom supplies, including soap, paper towels, and toilet tissue. Dust furniture, windowsills, vents, and other surfaces. Clean interior glass, windows, and entryways. Maintain break rooms by cleaning tables, countertops, appliances, and sinks. Monitor inventory of cleaning supplies and notify management when replenishment is needed. Report maintenance issues, safety hazards, or damaged equipment promptly. Follow all company safety policies and properly handle cleaning chemicals and equipment. Assist with special cleaning projects and other duties as assigned. Qualifications Previous custodial, janitorial, or commercial cleaning experience preferred. Ability to safely operate cleaning equipment such as vacuums, floor scrubbers, buffers, and mops. Knowledge of proper cleaning techniques and safe handling of cleaning chemicals. Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness. Ability to work independently and efficiently. Dependable with a strong work ethic and positive attitude. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, stand, bend, stoop, and walk for extended periods. Reliable transportation and a strong attendance record are required.
