Seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teacher for an exciting contract opportunity supporting students in grades K through 4. This full-time role centers on serving as the lead instructor in an elementary autistic support classroom. You'll work from 8:00 AM to 3:45 PM, providing structured guidance and fostering a nurturing learning environment for young learners with unique needs.
Experience in special education, particularly within autistic support, will help you make a significant impact on student growth and development. Your expertise will empower students to overcome challenges and achieve academic and social success.
Key Qualifications:
- Current Special Education Teaching certification
- Experience supporting students with autism spectrum disorder at the elementary level
- Strong understanding of IEP development, differentiated instruction, and data-driven interventions
- Ability to cultivate inclusive, positive classroom communities
- Excellent communication skills for collaborating with educational teams and families
- Commitment to professional growth and upholding ethical educational practices
Primary Responsibilities:
- Lead daily classroom instruction for students with autism in grades K-4
- Develop and implement individualized educational plans (IEPs)
- Create engaging academic and behavioral lesson plans tailored to students’ needs
- Work closely with support staff, therapists, and administrators to coordinate services
- Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records
- Engage in regular communication with parents and caregivers
- Foster a supportive, respectful, and structured environment that maximizes student participation
