Over 10-12 weeks, you'll assist in the analysis, design, and implementation oversight of civil systems. This paid, mentored internship offers real project work supporting field inspections, report writing, permit applications, site drainage and grading design, and learning the civil engineering trade. You'll support project documentation, coordination, and job site observations while working with experienced engineers and cross-functional teams to help meet project goals and client expectations. The team supports municipal, university, and utility work across Texas, delivering resilient, environmentally responsible infrastructure. Program Details Location: San Antonio, TX; Austin, TX Discipline: Civil Markets: Municipal; Universities; Utilities Ownership: 100% employee-owned (ESOP) Work Schedule: Full-time in office, 10-12 week summer program Program Length: 10-12 weeks Sponsorship: Not available What You'll Do Assist with design portions of civil projects according to code and IMEG standards Research resources for commercially available equipment Support client relations, maintain the project design notebook, and provide documentation for permanent record files Assist with coordinating design and schedule with other disciplines such as architectural, structural, electrical, mechanical, technology, clerical and equipment suppliers Document design decisions, meetings, and client instructions while monitoring project design progress Review project documents for accuracy and completeness prior to requesting a final check Assist with preparation and issuance of addendum information Conduct periodic job site observations and all other services as required by the contract services agreement What You'll Bring Education: Completed at least 2 years towards a Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Civil Engineering, or equivalent required Experience: None listed. Required Skills/Abilities: May be required to assist with field duties such as surveying and materials testing. Strong interest in design consulting. Skill in the use of Microsoft Office programs, CAD software and BIM. Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups. Preferred Prior internship experience in the building design consulting industry preferred. About the Team Texas civil team with strong university, municipal, and utility work. Recent work includes UTD Student Housing IX, Education; NTMWD Sister Grove RWRRF Ph. II, Water/Wastewater; and Parker Hannifin Manufacturing Complex, Industrial.
