UNC Health Medical Group is currently seeking a full‑time Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join their inpatient psych unit with UNC Health Johnston Inpatient Psychiatry, located at UNC Health Johnston in Smithfield, North Carolina. Schedule Full‑time, inpatient 12‑hour shifts (7 days on, 7 days off) Opportunity to participate in optional call coverage and additional shifts for extra compensation Qualifications PMHNP certification required NC license New grads welcome to apply Completion of an accredited graduate‑level Advanced Practice Provider (APRN or PA) program Licensed as an Advanced Practice Provider in North Carolina Board certification if required by the Department; DEA certification No prior experience required Demonstrated clinical competency Effective leadership and strong interpersonal skills Ability to work independently and collaboratively Strong written and verbal communication and analytical skills Effective interaction to ensure successful care of patients Documentation in the medical record to substantiate accurate billing Responsibilities Provide onsite care to patients in the inpatient behavioral health unit and the crisis stabilization unit at UNC Health Johnston in Smithfield, NC, working with the supervising psychiatry physician.
