Immigration Paralegal

Paralegal Position at Williams MullenWilliams Mullen is seeking a paralegal to join a fast paced corporate immigration practice. The ideal candidate will have at least 5-7 years of business immigration experience with H-1Bs, E-2s, L-1s, PERMs, I-140 Immigrant Petitions, and I-485 Adjustment of Status Applications. Experience preparing responses to Requests for Evidence a plus. Must be comfortable working in a team with multiple immigration attorneys. Ability to proactively and professionally interact with clients on a regular basis. Candidate must be highly organized. This position is 100% in office.Job DescriptionResponsibilities include:Assisting attorneys in the management of client relationships.Preparing immigration cases as assigned for submittal to the appropriate government agency and achieving a mastery of case types from simple to complex filings within particular practice area(s)Demonstrating independence in handling cases and achieving goalsUnderstanding the procedures and documentation required for cases to be filed successfully and following the company's service standardsWorking with clients to gather the necessary information and documentation in a timely mannerConducting basic legal research to support the attorneys with respect to changing case requirements and legal developmentsPreparing forms according to information received from clientsPreparing letters and other documents on behalf of the employer/clientFinalizing documents after review by the attorneyDemonstrating ability to manage a high caseload and work within strict timelinesMonitoring the status of all filed applications and petitionsRunning reports to assist in managing one's own caseloadAssisting with the review of billing protocols and ensuring that billing guidelines are metEvaluating cases and assisting in providing case strategies and/or solutions to issuesProviding company contacts with training and guidance regarding the company's systems and general immigration mattersEngaging in frequent contact with company client(s)Keeping abreast of current regulations and procedures relating to filing applicationsRequired Education, Skills and ExperienceBachelor's Degree and/or related paralegal certificate preferred3+ years of experience in immigration law and working in law firm environment preferredAbility to work in a fast-paced environmentExcellent verbal and written communication skillsStrong organizational skills and attention to detailProficient computer and word processing skillsDetail oriented, well-organized and able to handle multiple priorities.Knowledge of immigration case management software preferred (e.g. LawLogix, INSZoom, Immigration Tracker, etc.)Williams Mullen is an equal opportunity employer committed to a culturally diverse workforce.
