Primary Responsibilities Assist in determining the suitability of donors. You establish rapport with donors to ensure overall customer happiness while ensuring donor confidentiality. You respond to and assist with handling donor reactions. Monitors donor and equipment to ensure health of donors and quality of product. Sets up, disconnects, and operates the automated plasmapheresis machines. Disconnects and disposes of all contaminated disposable equipment. Occupational Demands Work is performed in a plasma center with exposure to biological fluids and potential exposure to infectious organisms. Exposure to electrical office and laboratory equipment. Exposure to extreme cold below 32 degrees F while working in plasma freezer. Personal protective equipment required such as protective eyewear, garments, gloves and cold-gear. Work is performed standing for 6 to 8 hours per day. Bending and twisting of neck and waist for 1-2 hours per day. Frequent hand movement and fine motor skills. May walk up to 6-8 hours per day. Light lifting of 15 lbs with a maximum lift of 50 lbs. Hearing, color and vision considerations apply. Ability to follow instructions and work under guidance of oral or written directions.
