Food & Beverage Host - Part Time (Harrah's Hoosier Park) Location: Anderson, IN, United States (On-site) Job Summary: Provide friendly, prompt and courteous food and/or beverage refreshment service to racetrack and casino guests in designated areas. Responsibilities Take orders from customers. Present menu, answer questions and make suggestions regarding food and service. Write or memorize orders. Relay orders to kitchen or bar and serve courses or drinks from the bar or kitchen service areas. Observe diners to respond to any additional requests and determine when a meal has been completed. Total bill and accept payment. Clear and reset counters or tables at conclusion of each course. Follow prescribed sanitary safeguards in handling all food and cleaning all surfaces. Check out with immediate supervisor. Abide by all safety requirements as outlined in the Safety Manual or as required by individual departments and/or job functions. Perform other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications Minimum age 18 years. Proficient in spoken and written English. High School Diploma, GED, or one to three months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Outgoing, energetic, and enthusiastic attitude. Comfortable initiating conversations and creating a fun environment for guests. Flexible to work various shifts, weekends, and holidays if applicable. Additional Physical and Job Requirements Ability to lift or move up to 25 pounds. Ability to bend, stoop, twist, reach, and kneel repetitively. Specific vision abilities such as close, distance, color, depth, and ability to adjust focus. Ability to ascend and descend stairs and maintain equilibrium for an extended period. Work from a standing position or walking motion for extended periods. Read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondences, and memos. Speak effectively before a group of customers or employees. Basic math skills: add, subtract, multiply, divide in all units of measure; use whole numbers, common fractions, decimals; compute rate, ratio, percent; draw and interpret bar graphs. Apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Promote a positive influence in the company and company-sponsored events; maintain a professional work environment with management and staff.
