Registered Nurse – Progressive Care Unit (PCU / IMC / Stepdown)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | 13 Weeks | Night Shift (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) | 12-Hour Shifts | 36 Hours per Week | Starts Any Monday

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 24-bed monitored flex unit serving intermediate and general care patients, with a primary focus on post-operative cardiac, thoracic, and vascular populations
• Manage arterial lines, central lines, peripheral and arterial lab draws, and various intravenous drips including cardiac, Lasix, insulin, heparin, and anti-hypertensive drips
• Perform and manage Dobhoff/NGT placement, J-tube, PEG, and chest tube care
• Support bedside procedures including TEE, cardioversions, chest tube placements, and thoracentesis
• Manage PCAs, epidurals, and pacemakers as part of routine patient care
• Perform IV insertions and maintain proficiency in IV start skills throughout the shift

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license (Compact license accepted)
• ACLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) required
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience
• Strong cardiac experience required
• Must reside at least 80 miles from the facility to be eligible

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience in a progressive care, intermediate care, or stepdown unit setting
• Familiarity with self-scheduling environments and working within a 1:4 or 1:5 RN-to-patient ratio
• Experience with post-operative cardiac, thoracic, and vascular patient populations
