Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse / Medical-Surgical Telemetry – Wisconsin

Start Date: October 12, 2026

Location: Madison, Wisconsin

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: Day/Night rotation, 12-hour shifts (0700-1930 and 1900-0730), every other weekend rotation and holidays as needed. Rotators will not be scheduled to flip between days/nights more than 2 times in a 6-week scheduling period, with 36 hours off between night-to-day transitions.

• Work in a Magnet-designated facility ranked as Wisconsin's #1 hospital and recognized as one of the nation's leading teaching institutions
• Medical-Surgical Telemetry unit serving adult and geriatric patients with a variety of conditions under Family Medicine service
• Unit census of approximately 20 patients daily with 25 rooms available
• EPIC charting system in use; comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and more
• Specialized locked wing for Department of Corrections patients with dedicated officer accompaniment for safety
• Flexible scheduling approach designed to minimize excessive day/night rotation transitions

Requirements:

• Active RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of acute care experience within the last 3 years in Medical-Surgical or Telemetry specialty
• BLS certification required (American Heart Association only)
• EPIC charting experience required
• Demonstrated proficiency in starting and maintaining IVs
• Must pass telemetry competency exam prior to start date with strict passing criteria (80% minimum score, 100% accuracy on lethal rhythms and third-degree heart blocks)
• Experience with telemetry interpretation, dysrhythmia management, central line care, wound care, PCA pumps, and isolation precautions preferred
• Previous experience caring for law enforcement patients is beneficial
• Floating to other units as needed; local candidates within 50 miles not eligible
• Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only)
