Sheet Metal Technician - Various Shifts (Sacramento, CA)

Job Summary Fabricate, assemble, install, and repair sheet metal products and equipment for general aviation aircraft. Work may involve setting up and operating fabricating machines to cut, bend, and straighten sheet metal; shaping metal over anvils, blocks, or forms using a hammer; operating soldering and welding equipment to join sheet metal parts; inspecting, assembling, and smoothing seams and joints of burred surfaces. Job Responsibilities Determine project requirements, including scope, assembly sequences, and required methods and materials, according to blueprints Set up for and install solid rivets with a rivet gun Set up for and in written and verbal instructions Lay out sheet metal parts using blueprints, drawings, written or verbal instructions Alter an existing part using blueprints, drawings, written or verbal instructions Rivet and sheet metal component removal Bend and form a radius on fabricated sheet metal parts Drill various metals Debur holes and cut lines Set up for and countersink holes Set up for and dimpling holes Stall solid rivets with a squeeze tool Install blind rivets and fasteners Education Requires a high school diploma or an equivalent certificate. Requires a minimum of 2 years of diversified aviation sheet metal experience.
