We are open to candidates relocating to the area and may provide relocation assistance for the right candidate. Note Candidates must be licensed and in good standing with the South Carolina Bar and have direct South Carolina workers' compensation defense experience. A book of business is not required. Ideal candidates will have 1+ years of relevant experience. Job Description Defend workers' compensation claims on behalf of employers, insurers, third-party administrators, risk managers, and self-insured entities. Manage cases through all phases of litigation from initial evaluation through resolution. Conduct legal research and prepare pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents. Handle discovery, depositions, mediations, hearings, trials, appeals, and settlement negotiations. Communicate regularly with clients and provide strategic legal guidance. Identify related legal issues and opportunities that may impact client matters. Effectively manage a caseload while maintaining high-quality work product and client service. Collaborate with attorneys and staff in a team-oriented environment. Qualifications Active South Carolina Bar license in good standing. 1+ years of South Carolina workers' compensation defense experience. Strong litigation, research, writing, and advocacy skills. Experience handling discovery, depositions, and case management. Excellent organizational and time management abilities. Strong interpersonal and client communication skills. Comfortable using legal technology and case management systems. Ability to exercise sound judgment and work independently.
