ABA Therapist - 3rd Shift

Location East Chicago, Indiana (4840 Grasselli St) About the Role Damar is seeking Intensive Autism Technicians for full‑time opportunities. The Technician provides direct services to children diagnosed with autism, using Applied Behavior Analysis principles, participating in Behavior Skills Training, and assisting during Practical Functional Assessments. Responsibilities include natural‑environment training, skills‑based treatment, data collection, and intensive autism intervention. The Technician provides direct support to individuals diagnosed with autism residing at Damar North and assists the treatment team—Intensive Autism Manager, Supervisor, and Director of Autism Services—in evaluating clinical services. Hours 3rd Shift (10 pm‑6 am) Benefits Pay: $20.00 an hour Collaborative environment Growth opportunities Eligible for the Damar Advantage including discounts at Damar Health Services and Damar Pharmacy Comprehensive training in verbal intervention and physical management techniques Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance options Up to $3,000 per year in Tuition Assistance 401(k) plan participation for retirement savings Life Insurance and voluntary options Short‑Term and Long‑Term Disability Insurance options Paid Holidays Paid Time Off (PTO) Responsibilities Demonstrate confidence in decision‑making regarding skill‑based treatment Complete and update mandatory training and other licensure‑related items in a timely manner Attend mandatory staff meetings and other meetings as assigned Seek best use of materials, equipment and staff to maximize efficiency and effectiveness Utilize data collection to drive and track outcomes and agency goals Ensure the agency meets quality improvement, evaluation, and reporting requirements Take pride and ownership of Damar’s facilities and assigned work areas Maintain neat, chronological documentation of all goals and behaviors Keep abreast of current treatment technology, literature, practices, and regulations Interact professionally with parents, school, medical personnel and others using excellent interpersonal and customer service skills Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree preferred ABA therapy experience and/or experience working with children with autism preferred but not required Ability to use an iPad and computer Must have or be able to obtain Therapeutic Crises Intervention (TCI) certification Must have or be able to obtain CPR certification Minimum age of 21 per licensure requirements Valid Indiana driver’s license with driving record meeting Damar’s insurance carrier requirements (for positions requiring driving) Clear of any felony convictions, substantiated charges of neglect or other disqualifying criminal convictions Successfully complete a pre‑employment physical Favorably meet and maintain Damar’s background screening Essential Job Functions Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office setting; stand or sit for prolonged periods; occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist; lift, carry, push, pull light to moderate weight (up to 35 lbs); operate office equipment and computer keyboards; travel to other locations as needed; and communicate verbally.
