Role Description The Accounting Bookkeeper is a full-time, on-site role based in Cape Girardeau, MO, responsible for supporting daily dealership accounting and finance operations. This role includes recording and posting journal entries, reconciling accounts, and maintaining accurate financial records in accordance with company policies and standard accounting practices. Day-to-day activities also involve processing payables and receivables, verifying data from sales and service departments, and responding to internal inquiries related to financial documentation. The person in this role collaborates with the accounting and management teams to support compliance, timely reporting, and efficient workflow. Qualifications Demonstrated proficiency in bookkeeping and recording journal entries (Accounting), with strong attention to accuracy and detail. Experience working with accounting software and related dealership or business systems, with the ability to learn new tools quickly. Understanding of basic finance principles and the preparation and review of financial statements. Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Effective written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams. A degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business is preferred with minimum of 5 years experience. Prior experience in automotive dealership accounting or a similar retail environment is a plus.
