Physician – General Surgery – Coastal North Carolina

HPA Healthcare is seeking a Board-Certified General Surgeon for a locum tenens opportunity in coastal North Carolina.

Coverage: 10/23/26 at 10:00 AM through 10/28/26 at 7:00 AM
Setting: Inpatient & Outpatient General Surgery
Call: Solo coverage
EMR: Epic
Provider Pay: $2,300 per 24-hour call period
Callback Pay: $300/hour after 2 included active hours
Pay Ranking: Top 20%

The physician will provide independent General Surgery coverage encompassing inpatient care, Emergency Department consults and procedures, elective and urgent surgery, and upper and lower endoscopy.

Clinical volumes include approximately 25 outpatient clinic patients per day, up to eight elective surgical cases per day, an average surgical inpatient census of two, and approximately one admission per day.

• Upper endoscopy/EGD
• Colonoscopy
• Cholecystectomy
• Appendectomy
• Food bolus removal
• Bowel obstruction management
• Hernia repair

Candidates must be Board Certified in General Surgery and maintain current BLS. ACLS and PALS are required if conscious sedation privileges are requested.

A minimum of five years of General Surgery experience is preferred . New providers will complete orientation before beginning their first scheduled coverage.
