Referral Specialist

Position Overview Employment Type: Full time; Shift: day shift (Monday–Friday). This is a hybrid opportunity. Position Purpose Referral Specialist coordinates, maintains, confirms, and/or secures referrals, authorizations, or precertifications for physician/clinic services. Verifies the accuracy and completeness of admitting information on outpatient referrals and obtains authorizations when needed. This role requires excellent customer service and professional communication skills. Responsibilities Coordinate, maintain, confirm, and secure referrals, authorizations, and precertifications for physician/clinic services. Verify accuracy and completeness of outpatient referral information. Obtain authorizations and pre‑certifications as required. Organize work efficiently while maintaining a high level of accuracy and productivity. Communicate effectively with a wide variety of stakeholders under varying conditions. Minimum Qualifications High School diploma or equivalent required. Minimum 1 year experience as a Referral Specialist. Knowledge of medical terminology and medical office procedures preferred. Knowledge of third‑party payers and pre‑authorization requirements preferred. Computer skills including Epic and MS Office products. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
