Job Description

Immediate Placement in Hoboken, New Jersey. An Environmental Specialist plans, performs, reviews, and analyzes environmental studies, reports, including soil and sediment, air and water quality, contaminated property, noise, transportation and cultural resources, conducts data collection, water sampling, soil sampling, air sampling, real-time monitoring using hand held direct reading instruments, manages remote data collection monitoring stations, collects and evaluates field and laboratory data to determine the environmental impacts; conducts site inspections and collaborates with construction team as necessary.

The Environmental Specialist shall act as coordinator/liaison for environmental-related issues during construction. Duties include: Implement environmental plans, documents permit compliance, maintains records, and prepares reports; Monitors and controls the Construction Contractor’s environmental-related work activities; Documents the Contractor’s compliance with environmental requirements; Participates during spot checks and environmental compliance inspections.

Desired Experience:

1. Experience coordinating, developing, permitting, and implementing environmental issues for construction of projects, including urban areas.
2. Experience in the environmental industry, preferably relevant heavy construction experience in dealing with environmental aspects.
3. BA or BS degree preferred
4. Working knowledge of environmental regulations, standards, and guidance documents, as applicable.
5. Experience or interest in Environmental Services, including support for site investigations and environmental monitoring.
6. Strong Communication skills for clear documentation, collaboration with team members, and professional interaction with clients and site contacts.
7. Ability to work safely in outdoor field environments, including lifting equipment, standing for extended periods, and working in varying weather conditions.
8. Attention to detail and organizational skills for accurate recordkeeping, sample labeling, and data entry.
9. Basic proficiency with common office software (e.g., word processing, spreadsheets) and willingness to learn specialized environmental data tools.
10. Valid driver’s license for travel to local project sites.

Salary/Compensation: $62,000 - $87,000 per year
