Staff Accountant

Staff Accountant Job Description Position Summary The Staff Accountant is responsible for supporting the day-to-day accounting operations of the organization. This role ensures the accuracy of financial records, assists with the preparation of financial statements, and supports month-end and year-end close processes. The Staff Accountant plays a critical role in maintaining compliance with accounting standards and internal controls. Key Responsibilities General Accounting Prepare and record journal entries in accordance with accounting standards Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports Month-End & Year-End Close Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes Perform account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies Analyze financial data to ensure accuracy and completeness Financial Reporting & Analysis Assist with internal and external financial reporting requirements Prepare supporting schedules and documentation for audits Analyze variances and provide insights to management Compliance & Controls Ensure adherence to company policies and applicable accounting standards (e.g., GAAP) Maintain accurate and complete financial records Assist with internal and external audits Accounts & Transactions Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions as needed Monitor transactions to ensure accuracy and timely processing Assist with fixed asset accounting and depreciation schedules Qualifications Education & Experience Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field 1–3 years of accounting experience preferred (entry-level candidates may be considered) Skills & Competencies Strong attention to detail and accuracy Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software Good analytical and problem-solving skills Strong organizational and time-management abilities Effective written and verbal communication skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Working Conditions Typically office-based or hybrid work environment May require additional hours during closing periods or audits #J-18808-Ljbffr
