Industrial Mechanic

Industrial MechanicSchedule: Monday - Thursday, 7 AM - 5 PM, Friday 7 AM - 3 PM (Weekend Availability preferred but not required).The Industrial Mechanic is responsible for the inspection, maintenance, diagnosis, and repair of fleet vehicles, heavy equipment, and plant-related machinery used in cottonseed oil mill operations. This role ensures all equipment operates safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company safety and maintenance standards to support continuous mill production.Key Responsibilities:Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on fleet vehicles, tractors, forklifts, loaders, trailers, and heavy equipmentDiagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues and determine appropriate repairsService diesel and gasoline engines, transmissions, brakes, steering systems, and suspensionsInspect equipment for safety, operational readiness, and regulatory complianceMaintain detailed maintenance and repair records, including work orders and parts usageCoordinate with maintenance and operations teams to prioritize repairs and minimize downtimeRespond to equipment breakdowns during production and assist with emergency repairsMaintain garage tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean and safe conditionFollow all company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and lockout/tagout proceduresAssist with equipment modifications or fabrication as neededPerform other duties as assigned to support mill operationsQualifications:High school diploma, GED, or technical or trade school certificate preferred but not required.Diesel Mechanic Certification preferred.Minimum of 3–5 years of experience as a mechanic working with heavy equipment, fleet vehicles, or industrial machineryStrong knowledge of diesel engines and hydraulic systemsAbility to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and repair documentationExperience using diagnostic tools and computerized maintenance systems preferredValid driver's license required; CDL preferred but not requiredCore Competencies:Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skillsAttention to detail and safety awarenessTime management and ability to prioritize tasksStrong communication and teamwork skillsDependability and accountabilityTo perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
