AMT Certified Medical Assistant

Overview: Join a dedicated healthcare team supporting both administrative and clinical needs of physicians and licensed medical staff in a busy outpatient orthopedic and sports medicine clinic located in the Southeastern U.S. region. This role involves assisting with patient vital signs, updating medical records, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and quality standards. Key Responsibilities: Maintain patient confidentiality, dignity, and well-being at all times. Accurately document patient care and interactions during visits and phone communications. Collect and process point-of-care, laboratory, and pathology samples following established protocols. Perform quality and safety checks on waived testing equipment and supplies. Provide patient education under provider guidance. Administer treatments, dressing changes, medications, and therapies as ordered by licensed providers. Assist providers during procedures and examinations, including chaperoning and setup. Prepare reusable instruments for sterilization and manage biohazard and pharmaceutical waste per OSHA guidelines. Maintain a clean and safe patient care environment by adhering to infection prevention standards. Manage supply inventory and ensure availability of necessary instruments and materials. Perform front desk duties such as greeting patients, scheduling appointments, and assisting with coding and billing processes. Coordinate with external healthcare partners to support patient care plans. Monitor electronic health record communications and respond promptly. Conduct components of well visits and scheduled nursing visits as directed. Complete all required documentation prior to provider visits. Perform high-level disinfection procedures and float to other clinics as needed. Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent required. Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program with successful certification from recognized organizations such as CMA, RMA, CCMA, or equivalent. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association required. Preferred: Minimum of one year clinical experience in an outpatient setting. Skills and Abilities: Ability to recognize and respond to life-threatening situations and activate emergency services. Strong communication skills for interacting with patients, staff, and providers both in person and via phone. Physical capability to perform clinical tasks including standing, walking, bending, and lifting. Comfort with potential exposure to blood or other infectious materials. MLee Medical Employment
