Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA) - Full Time Night Shift

NaphCare is seeking to hire a full‑time night shift Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our team of medical professionals in the Pasco County Detention Center in Land O Lakes, Florida. As a Correctional CNA , you will work under the supervision of a registered nurse alongside correctional officers and other medical professionals to provide care to the individuals in residence. Working within a controlled environment where security is top priority, you will assist physicians and other healthcare professionals with examinations, take patient histories, record vital signs, support administrative tasks, and more. Responsibilities Assist with performing patient assessments, interviewing patients about current health problems, medication history. Take vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, respiration, and weight. Perform routine procedures under established protocols, including phlebotomy, EKG, dressing changes, and wound cultures. Document medical history, medications, treatments, and conditions. Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADL) skills such as bathing, dressing, feeding, and mobility. Provide basic wound care, basic laboratory tests, basic patient education and instructions. Observe and report changes in patients’ physical or mental health to nurses. Qualifications CNA certification—completion of an accredited CNA training program and passing a state‑approved competency exam. High school diploma or equivalent (GED). CPR and first aid certification, or willingness to obtain. Pass the facility’s criminal background check and drug screening. Maintain confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential information. Display integrity, professionalism, and adhere to the Code of Conduct and all facility correctional healthcare policies, procedures, and legal requirements. Physical Capabilities Must be able to stand for long periods, lift and move patients (up to 50 pounds), bend, squat, reach, push, pull, walk significant distances, and perform physically demanding tasks such as CPR while maintaining good balance and endurance throughout a shift.
