About the Position

Job Title

Registered Nurse – Progressive Care / Step Down (IMC/PCU)

Contract | Nights | 36 or 48 hours per week | ASAP Start

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a 16-bed Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) with a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Monitor and manage patients presenting with conditions including sepsis, heart failure, hypertensive emergency, respiratory failure, COPD, chronic kidney disease, Type 2 diabetes, substance abuse, and encephalopathy
• Administer and manage Heparin drips and other IV medications per protocol
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans in a progressive care setting
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams to ensure safe and effective patient outcomes

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a progressive care, step down, or IMC/PCU setting
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
• Experience managing high-acuity patients including those on Heparin drips

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience caring for patients with sepsis, respiratory failure, or encephalopathy in an intermediate care environment
• Familiarity with managing patients with substance abuse and complex chronic conditions in an acute care setting
