HYBRID OFFICE ASSISTANT / CAREGIVER

Part-Time | Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM–1:00 PM | Plano, TX
Office Support + Caregiver Coverage | Opportunity to Grow Full-Time

Harmony At Home Senior Care is hiring a Hybrid Office Assistant / Caregiver for a unique role that combines office work with direct client caregiving.

PLEASE READ BEFORE APPLYING — THIS IS A HYBRID POSITION

Your normal workday will begin in our Plano office , where you will help our team with basic administrative, organizational, and office support tasks.

However, you are also part of our caregiver coverage team.

If we have a caregiver call out, an uncovered client visit, or another staffing need during your scheduled hours, you may be sent from the office to the client's home to provide care instead of completing your office duties that day.

For example:

Normal Day: Report to the office at 8:00 AM → assist with phones, paperwork, organizing, projects, etc. → leave at 1:00 PM.

Coverage Day: Report to the office at 8:00 AM → office receives a caregiver call-out → you are assigned to the client → leave the office and provide caregiving services for the remainder of the assigned visit.

Mileage is paid when you are dispatched from the office to a client's location.

Applicants must be comfortable performing both office duties AND hands-on caregiving duties. This is not an office-only position.

STARTING SCHEDULE

Monday–Friday
8:00 AM–1:00 PM
Part-Time

The position will initially provide approximately 25 scheduled hours per week .

Want more hours? Additional client caregiving shifts may be available after 1:00 PM. Employees interested in working more hours or building a full-time schedule can let our scheduling team know that they are available for additional client assignments.

OFFICE ASSISTANT DUTIES

When working in the office, you'll help our team with straightforward, easily trainable tasks such as:

• Answering and directing incoming phone calls

• Filing, scanning, copying, and organizing paperwork

• Preparing new-hire and caregiver paperwork packets

• Preparing client folders and information packets

• Organizing our inventory and storage room

• Restocking and organizing office supplies

• Preparing client welcome bags, caregiver gift bags, birthday items, and other packages

• Printing and assembling orientation and training materials

• Stuffing envelopes, labeling materials, and preparing mailings

• Shredding documents according to office procedures

• Light data entry and updating basic tracking lists

• Preparing materials for meetings, orientations, and training

• Keeping common office areas clean, organized, and presentable

• Light office cleaning and tidying

• Running occasional office-related errands

• Helping our administrative team with other basic projects as needed

Office experience is not required, but is preferred. We can train the right person!

CAREGIVER DUTIES

When client coverage is needed, you will transition from your office responsibilities to providing one-on-one, non-medical care in a client's home or approved care setting.

Depending on the client's individual care plan, this may include:

• Companionship and supervision

• Personal care and hygiene assistance

• Dressing and grooming

• Toileting and incontinence care

• Mobility and transfer assistance

• Meal preparation

• Light housekeeping

• Medication reminders

• Other approved activities of daily living

Because one of the purposes of this position is helping our agency respond to unexpected call-outs and uncovered visits , you must be flexible and prepared to transition from office work to client care when assigned.

GROW FROM PART-TIME TO FULL-TIME

This position is designed to have room for growth.

You'll start with basic office responsibilities while learning more about how a home care agency operates behind the scenes.

Employees who perform well and are interested in advancing may have the opportunity to receive more advanced office training in other departments , including:

• Recruiting & Caregiver Onboarding

• Scheduling & Staffing

• Marketing & Community Outreach

• Client & Caregiver Coordination

• Other administrative and operational responsibilities

As your training and responsibilities increase, there may be an opportunity for this position to develop into a full-time office role.

This makes the position especially well suited for an experienced caregiver who wants to eventually transition into the administrative or operations side of home care but hasn't had the opportunity to gain office experience yet.

• Able to maintain confidentiality with client and employee information

• Willing to help with a variety of tasks rather than expecting the exact same routine every day

• Able and willing to drive to client locations when assigned

• Interested in learning more about home care operations and potentially growing within the company

THIS POSITION MAY BE A GREAT FIT IF...

You're already an experienced caregiver, but you're interested in getting your foot in the door on the office side of home care.

Instead of requiring previous scheduling, recruiting, or home care management experience, we're looking for someone we can train and develop over time.

Some days you'll spend your entire shift working alongside our office team. Other days, a client may need us and you'll head out to provide care.

And if you're looking for additional hours, you can potentially pick up client shifts after your 1:00 PM office schedule as they become available.
