The Field Service Technician I repairs, sharpens, and maintains surgical instruments at customer sites. Working alongside senior technicians, this role helps ensure instruments are functioning properly while providing excellent customer service and support. Key Responsibilities Repair and maintain surgical instruments with guidance from senior technicians. Perform on-site inspections, testing, maintenance, and repairs. Troubleshoot instrument issues and determine appropriate solutions. Complete repairs accurately and on time. Build strong relationships with customers and provide excellent service. Work with Sales teams to support business growth in the territory. Understand customer needs and provide recommendations when appropriate. Complete daily work orders and service documentation. Maintain customer reports and records. Collaborate with service, technical, and sales teams. Keep work areas and equipment clean and organized. Follow all ISO, FDA, quality, and safety requirements. Support the Company's Vision, Mission, and Values. Perform other duties as assigned. Required High school diploma or equivalent. Experience repairing, machining, or handling delicate metal instruments. Strong communication and customer service skills. Basic computer skills. Ability to work independently and travel to customer locations. Flexibility to work overtime or adjusted schedules when needed. Preferred Technical, vocational, or associate degree. Experience in medical devices, healthcare, sterile processing, manufacturing, or mechanical repair. Familiarity with surgical instrumentation and Sterile Processing Department (SPD) operations, including instrument handling, inspection, and care. Skills Mechanical aptitude and attention to detail. Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities. Ability to read and follow technical instructions and procedures. Basic math skills and ability to maintain accurate records. Ability to communicate effectively with customers, coworkers, and management. Pay Range: $30.36 - $45.68 The targeted range for this role takes into account a range of factors that are considered when making compensation and hiring decisions; included but not limited to: skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. Vendor credentialing clearances include, but are not limited to, a national criminal background check, drug screening, and immunizations as determined by the vendors, which may include, but are not limited to, Influenza, Hepatitis B Virus, and COVID-19. You must fully comply with the requirements of the Healthcare Customers in your region, including any necessary proof of any vaccination.
