Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor and Delivery position requiring 2 years of specialty experience, BSN, and a PA compact RN license.

Details

• Labor and Delivery unit within a teaching hospital setting
• 13-week contract with day shift schedule (3x12 hours, 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM)
• Every 3rd weekend requirement, Friday/Saturday nights
• No floating required
• No on-call requirements
• Holiday coverage required for at least 1 of Thanksgiving, Christmas Day, or New Year's Day
• Patient ratio of 1-2
• Uses Epic charting system
• High acuity, fast-paced unit

Requirements

• Active RN license (PA or Compact) required
• Current certifications: NRP, ACLS, and BLS required
• AWHONN Beginner or Intermediate certification required (Advanced preferred)
• BSN required
• Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required due to unit acuity and pace
• Epic charting experience preferred
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Valid state license or certification required at time of consideration
• Valid references and certification copies required for consideration
• PA fingerprint clearance required within 1 week of contract signing
• Pass/Fail clinical exam required for clearance (up to 3 attempts allowed)

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive Labor and Delivery care including antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum management
• Skills include fetal monitoring (external and internal), IUPC placement, EFM interpretation, and management of high-risk deliveries
• Experience with medication administration including Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, and epidural support preferred
• Assist with cesarean sections, vaginal deliveries, and neonatal resuscitation as needed
• Care for patients with high-risk conditions such as pre-eclampsia, placenta previa, and gestational diabetes
• Scrubs are provided
• Must reside within a 50-mile radius to qualify for local candidate rate
• Local candidates accepted at a different rate
• Experienced travelers preferred due to the high-acuity, fast-paced nature of the unit
• Time off requests must be submitted prior to contract confirmation and cannot be accommodated after
