Position Overview
An established industrial manufacturing company is seeking experienced Mechanical Maintenance Technicians to maintain troubleshoot and repair industrial production equipment in Florence Alabama.
This hands-on position requires strong mechanical troubleshooting skills and experience working with industrial machinery hydraulic and pneumatic systems and mechanical power transmission components.
The ideal candidate has a solid background in industrial manufacturing maintenance can independently diagnose equipment failures and is comfortable working 12-hour night shifts.
Key Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot repair and maintain industrial manufacturing equipment including conveyors pumps gearboxes bearings and drive systems.
- Diagnose mechanical failures identify root causes and implement effective repairs to minimize production downtime.
- Maintain and repair hydraulic and pneumatic systems including cylinders valves and related components.
- Perform preventive and predictive maintenance equipment inspections lubrication and component replacements.
- Read and interpret mechanical drawings blueprints equipment manuals and technical documentation.
- Assist with equipment installations modifications alignments and commissioning.
- Collaborate with electrical and controls technicians to resolve complex machinery issues.
- Follow established safety procedures including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO).
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and communicate equipment issues to production and maintenance teams.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- Minimum 5 years of mechanical maintenance experience in an industrial manufacturing environment.
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting maintenance and repair skills.
- Hands-on experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Knowledge of mechanical power transmission bearings gearboxes motors and industrial production equipment.
- Ability to read mechanical drawings blueprints and technical manuals.
- Ability to troubleshoot equipment independently with minimal supervision.
- Willingness and ability to work 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM.
Preferred Qualifications
- Technical certification or trade school training in industrial maintenance mechanical systems or a related field.
- Experience with preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
- Experience with industrial equipment installation alignment and commissioning.
- Familiarity with Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and industrial safety procedures.
