Collections Specialist

We are looking for a Collections Specialist to support revenue recovery efforts for a long-term contract opportunity in Minneapolis, Minnesota. This position focuses on managing account follow-up, resolving outstanding balances, and working across internal and external partners to improve payment outcomes. The ideal candidate brings a strong understanding of collections workflows, can navigate complex healthcare-related systems and programs, and communicates effectively in a fast-paced environment.Responsibilities:• Manage assigned accounts and perform timely follow-up to secure payment resolution and reduce aging balances.• Investigate unpaid or underpaid claims by reviewing account details, payer activity, and supporting documentation.• Communicate with patients, payers, and internal teams to clarify discrepancies and move accounts toward closure.• Apply knowledge of healthcare programs and coverage structures, including government-related plans, when addressing account issues.• Document collection activity thoroughly and maintain accurate records within applicable systems and tracking tools.• Partner with offshore or cross-functional support teams to coordinate workload, share updates, and maintain service expectations.• Analyze account trends and identify recurring obstacles that may affect reimbursement or collection performance.• Support process adherence by following established billing and collection procedures while meeting productivity goals.
