Job Description\n Genie Healthcare is seeking a travel nurse RN ICU - Intensive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in Peoria, Illinois.Job Description & Requirements\n \n Specialty: ICU - Intensive Care Unit\n Discipline: RN\n Start Date: 10/05/2026\n Duration: 13 weeks\n 36 hours per week\n Shift: 12 hours, days\n Employment Type: Travel\n \n Unit & Patient Population\n \n Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:2–3\n Common diagnoses include respiratory failure, post-surgical patients, wound care, IV antibiotics, post-CVA, trauma, and cardiac patients.\n ICU RNs provide primary patient care; no nurse aides/PCTs are assigned to the unit.\n Hospitalist/Intensivist coverage is available in-house 24/7; tele-health physician coverage is available after hours.\n Respiratory Therapy is available in-house 24/7.\n All 8 ICU beds have hard-wired Philips telemetry monitors with central monitoring by an ICU telemetry tech.\n Required ICU Experience\n \n Candidates should be comfortable with:\n \n PEG tube care and feedings\n CVC, PICC, and Midline usage and care\n Tracheostomy patients\n Sedated and mechanically ventilated patients\n Titrating vasopressors\n Titrating sedation and pain-control drips\n Troubleshooting vents, CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow oxygen equipment\n Reading/monitoring patient telemetry\n Common Drips\n Experience with most ICU-level titratable drips is expected, including:\n \n Precedex\n Propofol\n Fentanyl\n Versed\n Lasix\n Insulin\n Amiodarone\n Nitro\n Levophed\n Dopamine\n Cardizem\n \n About Genie Healthcare\n \n Genie Healthcare is one of the fastest growing Nurse Travel Agencies in the USA.
