About the Role Our client is seeking a skilled and reliable Agricultural Equipment Operator to join their farming operations in Welkom . This role is essential for ensuring the efficient planting, cultivation, and harvesting of crops. You will be responsible for operating and maintaining a range of heavy machinery, including tractors, harvesters, and plows, ensuring they are in optimal working condition. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of agricultural practices and a commitment to safety and productivity on the farm. This is a hands‑on position that plays a critical part in the success of the agricultural cycle in the Free State . Key Responsibilities Operate tractors, plows, planters, harvesters, and other farm machinery safely and efficiently. Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on all agricultural equipment to ensure optimal performance. Follow planting, cultivating, and harvesting schedules as directed by farm management. Monitor equipment performance and identify any mechanical issues requiring attention. Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies while operating machinery. Assist with general farm labor and other duties as needed during peak seasons. Requirements Proven experience as an agricultural equipment operator or in a similar role. Proficiency in operating various types of farm machinery. Basic mechanical knowledge for routine maintenance and troubleshooting. Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
