Laboratory Operations Technician II Location: 1300 East Touhy Avenue, Des Plaines, IL 60018-3315 Duration: 12 Months Work Arrangement: 100% Onsite Pay Range: $20 - $23 per hour (W2) We are seeking a “Laboratory Operations Technician II” to join one of our leading healthcare clients. Duties and Responsibilities Laboratory Equipment Cleaning and Maintenance Collect assay tray carriers, sample racks, laboratory equipment, and other reusable materials from designated work areas. Perform cleaning and sanitization of reusable items using approved procedures in compliance with GLP standards. Ensure proper handling, segregation, and labeling of materials during collection and cleaning to prevent cross‑contamination. Inspect cleaned items to confirm cleanliness and suitability for reuse. Return cleaned materials to appropriate laboratory locations in a timely manner to support continuous operations. Sample Handling and Testing Support Receive, log, and track swab samples generated during refurbishment activities in accordance with established procedures. Prepare and load samples onto automated molecular platforms to support refurbishment verification testing. Dispose of samples and consumables following approved safety and compliance guidelines. Maintain accurate and complete documentation of sample processing, testing activities, and results in accordance with data integrity standards. Ensure traceability and accuracy through strong attention to detail. Collaborate closely with refurbishment and laboratory operations teams to ensure efficient workflows and timely completion of testing. Project Work Execute project tasks independently or with minimal supervision to support team goals and operational improvements. Partner with team members to identify process improvement opportunities and implement solutions. Document, track, and communicate project progress and outcomes. Qualifications Attention to Detail: Ability to maintain accurate records and ensure proper handling of samples and equipment. Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and move materials weighing over 20 pounds. Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication to effectively collaborate with cross‑functional teams.
