Position Overview

We are seeking a compassionate, dedicated, and highly qualified Special Education Teacher to join our team! The ideal candidate is committed to fostering an inclusive learning environment and supporting students with diverse learning needs through individualized instruction and evidence-based teaching practices.

As a Special Education Teacher, you will develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and provide students with the academic, behavioral, and social-emotional support necessary to achieve success.

Key Responsibilities

Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in compliance with state and federal regulations.
Provide differentiated instruction based on each student's unique educational needs.
Deliver individualized, small-group, and classroom instruction using evidence-based teaching strategies.
Monitor student progress through ongoing assessments and data collection.
Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, administrators, and families to support student achievement.
Maintain accurate documentation, progress reports, and required special education records.
Utilize positive behavior supports, classroom management strategies, and behavior intervention plans (BIPs) when appropriate.
Participate in IEP meetings, professional development, and school-based collaborative planning.

Minimum Qualifications

Valid South Carolina Special Education Teaching Certification (Required).
Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field from an accredited college or university.
Knowledge of IDEA, IEP development, and special education compliance requirements.
Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
Ability to create an inclusive, student-centered learning environment.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience teaching students with diverse disabilities in K–12 settings.
Familiarity with inclusion, resource, and self-contained classroom models.
Experience with progress monitoring, differentiated instruction, and data-driven decision-making.
Knowledge of Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) and behavior management strategies.
