Position Details HR Diversity Program Manager (Equal Employment Opportunity & Title IX Investigator) – Office of affirmative action conducted by the CUNY School of Medicine (SoM) located in Harlem, New York. SoM is the only medical school in the City University of New York system and the only public medical school in Manhattan. The institution offers an accelerated BS/MD degree (7‑year program) and a Physician Assistant Master’s Degree (27‑month program). Its mission is to recruit highly talented students as diverse as New York City itself, with a special emphasis on underrepresented groups and training culturally competent health professionals. The school also seeks to enhance the recruitment and retention of senior leadership, faculty, and staff in alignment with the diversity of its student body. The SoM is currently seeking an EEO & Title IX Investigator. The successful candidate will conduct thorough and impartial investigations related to discrimination, harassment, and retaliation. Duties include interviewing complainants and respondents, identifying and interviewing witnesses, gathering and assessing relevant information, applying relevant CUNY policies to determine findings of fact, and preparing comprehensive written reports that summarize witness interviews and other evidence. Responsibilities Investigate complaints of discrimination, sexual misconduct, and retaliation pursuant to CUNY policies under supervision of the Chief Diversity Officer. Ensure effective, efficient, thorough, and impartial investigations emphasizing attention to detail, accuracy, and relevance in fact‑finding. Appropriately document interviews and investigative findings. Assist in ensuring compliance with federal, state, and city laws and regulations and University‑wide mandates. Serve as case manager to ensure timely response and processing of all complaints and other office matters. Assist with training related to Title IX/Enough is Enough (EIE), EEO, Diversity and other compliance initiatives. Collaborate with Human Resources, the Dean of Students Office, and Legal Affairs to ensure compliance with EEO, OFCCP and other initiatives. Collaborate with the Dean of Students Office regarding student complaints and other issues. Attend meetings and coordinate with University offices to ensure consistency in CUNY‑wide policies. Perform other duties as assigned by the Chief Diversity Officer & Title IX Coordinator. Qualifications Bachelor's degree and six years of related experience required. Preferred Qualifications Two years of professional experience investigating Title VI, Title VII, Title IX and/or ADA complaints or similar investigation or litigation experience. Master’s Degree. Knowledge of applicable regulatory requirements, laws and guidelines including Titles VI, VII, and IX, ADAA, Section 504, state and local disability laws and CUNY policies. Effective conflict resolution skills and ability to determine mutually acceptable solutions for difficult problems with competing interests. Excellent interpersonal, analytical, and oral/written communication skills. Computer applications: proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and PeopleSoft. Compensation and Benefits Salary Range: $83,681 – $98,995. Salary commensurate with education and experience.
