Senior Multimedia Designer

Under limited supervision, reporting to the Director of Creative Services and Data Strategies (Director), the Senior Multimedia Designer is responsible for leading the design, production, and execution of creative assets for the Annual Giving and Donor Experience department. This position serves as the primary designer for print, email, digital advertising, web, and other digital communications that support annual giving, donor engagement, donor experience, and constituent marketing strategies. The Senior Multimedia Designer develops compelling, brand-compliant visual materials that strengthen fundraising performance, improve user experience, and enhance engagement with alumni, donors, parents, students, and friends of the university. The Senior Multimedia Designer collaborates closely with the Annual Giving Programs and Unit Strategy team, Donor Experience team, University Development partners, Advancement Services, Printing Services, and University Communications and Marketing to deliver high-quality multimedia assets across multiple platforms. This position translates fundraising and marketing goals into effective visual storytelling and digital experiences, ensuring that all creative output is audience-centered, accessible, timely, and aligned with university brand standards.

Requires a bachelor's degree in a job related field and 3 or more years of job related experience, which may be substituted by an equivalent combination of job related certification, training, education, and/or experience.

Bachelor's degree in graphic design, multimedia design, visual communications, digital media, marketing, or a related field. Experience in higher education, nonprofit fundraising, annual giving, or marketing and communications. Demonstrated experience designing creative assets for email marketing, print production, paid digital advertising, websites, social media, and campaign-based fundraising communications. Experience working with CRM email builders, Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, web content tools, and print vendors preferred. Experience with project management tools, like JIRA.

Comprehensive knowledge of graphic design, multimedia design, visual storytelling, layout, typography, digital marketing creative, and print production processes. Strong knowledge of creative best practices for fundraising, email marketing, digital advertising, websites, and donor-facing communications. Conceptualize and execute compelling print and digital materials with clear calls to action and audience-specific messaging. Knowledge of accessibility standards, brand management, and user experience best practices. Manage multiple complex projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, faculty, alumni, donors, students, volunteers, vendors, and university partners. Strong attention to detail, sound judgment, and commitment to quality and accuracy.

Serve as the lead designer for the Annual Giving and Donor Experience programs by conceptualizing, designing, and producing creative assets for print, email, digital advertising, web, social media, online giving, presentations, and other digital and multimedia communications in coordination with the Director.

Design and build fundraising and engagement email communications in collaboration with Annual Giving and Donor Experience staff and other University Development partners, ensuring visual quality, strong user experience, accessibility, mobile responsiveness, and consistency with campaign strategy and university brand standards.

Create and maintain digital campaign assets, including digital ads, website graphics, giving day graphics, landing page visuals, online giving form creative, social graphics, and other audience-facing materials that support donor acquisition, retention, participation, and engagement goals. Reviews, evaluates, and makes recommendations for new digital assets or the modification of existing marketing digital programs and initiatives.

Manage design production for printed materials, including direct mail, postcards, signage, inserts, envelopes, reply devices, and other collateral; prepare files for print, coordinate with vendors and Printing Services, review proofs, and ensure quality control, accuracy, and brand compliance through final production.

Collaborate with division leadership and campus partners to recommend and implement creative approaches that strengthen campaign performance, improve constituent experience, and enhance visual consistency across annual giving and donor experience initiatives. Contribute to creative planning, project timelines, and development of templates, toolkits, and design standards for ongoing use.
