Applied Signal Processing AI/ML Engineer

Salary: $85,000 - 195,000 per year Requirements:

• Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related technical discipline.
• At least 3 years of experience developing signal processing, machine learning, artificial intelligence, or information processing algorithms for sensor-driven systems.
• Background working with real-world sensing data, such as acoustic, RF, radar, communications, EO/IR, electronic warfare, or other physical sensing sources.
• Experience creating, validating, and transitioning algorithms into user-facing capabilities.
• Strong programming skills in Python, C++, MATLAB, or comparable languages.
• Ability to obtain Interim Secret clearance by the start date and ultimately qualify for Top Secret clearance; U.S. citizenship is required.
• Preferred: advanced degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Physics, or a related field.
• Preferred: experience moving advanced analytics, AI/ML, or signal processing capabilities into military operational settings.
• Preferred: experience leading small technical teams or serving as a technical lead on multidisciplinary projects.
• Preferred: experience identifying new technical opportunities, engaging sponsors, and helping shape future programs.
• Preferred: experience deploying AI/ML capabilities in resource-constrained, real-time, or operational environments.
• Preferred: active Top Secret clearance.

• Design, build, and assess AI/ML, signal processing, and information processing solutions for maritime sensing use cases.
• Prototype, integrate, test, and transition algorithms into operational software and embedded systems.
• Work alongside software engineers and domain specialists to deploy capabilities in real-world environments.
• Examine sensor data, evaluate system performance, and identify ways to improve operational effectiveness.
• Engage with sponsors, mission users, and stakeholders to interpret needs and convert them into technical solutions.
• Support proposal development and technical planning for future capabilities.
• Mentor junior team members and promote technical excellence across the group.
• Stay informed on emerging technologies and judge their relevance to maritime sensing challenges.
