SUMMARY

The Back of House Supervisor is a key leader in the restaurant, responsible for maintaining company standards and delivering on our cultural, financial, and quality measures of success. This role requires balancing the needs of guests, team members, the community, and the business while ensuring consistent food quality and operational excellence.

This position plays a critical role in ensuring every plate reflects our standards and that every guest truly Tastes the Love .

RESPONSIBILITIES

GUEST EXPERIENCE & HOSPITALITY

• Ensure all food leaving the kitchen meets standards for craveability, consistency, and presentation
• Maintain a strong sense of urgency and accuracy to support timely ticket execution
• Partner with Front of House leadership to ensure a seamless and memorable guest experience
• Represent Luella’s through pride in product, consistency, and professionalism

POSITION EXECUTION

• Supervise and lead kitchen shifts with a focus on our six key business drivers
• Work all Back of House positions as needed and lead by example
• Maintain deep knowledge of the menu, recipes, and preparation standards
• Adhere strictly to recipes to ensure consistency across all shifts
• Complete all opening, closing, and shift checklists with 100% thoroughness
• Maintain exemplary cleanliness, sanitation, and organization at all times
• Ensure compliance with all Health Department and safety regulations
• Support inventory practices, product organization, and waste control
• Demonstrate strong attention to detail and commitment to high standards
• Communicate clearly and effectively with both BOH and FOH teams

QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum two years of successful experience in a high-volume restaurant environment
• Previous leadership, supervisory, or training experience preferred
• Strong knowledge of kitchen operations, food safety, and sanitation standards
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Basic computer proficiency and ability to quickly learn new systems
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to high standards
• Demonstrated integrity, accountability, and work ethic
• Passion for hospitality, food, and consistent execution
• Engagement with and appreciation for the local community

PHYSICAL & SCHEDULE REQUIREMENTS

• Ability to stand and remain on feet for extended periods
• Ability to walk, talk, hear, and maintain sustained mental and visual attention
• Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, and use hands to handle tools or controls
• Ability to lift and move items, including cases of food and equipment (approximately 20+ lbs overhead)
• Ability to work in hot kitchen environments with exposure to heat, sharp tools, and fast-paced conditions
• Ability to work in multiple environments including kitchen, office, and off-site catering venues
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including AM/PM shifts, weekends, and holidays

• Hourly pay range: $22–$25 per hour, based on experience
